Saving the environment is the need of the hour, and Uday Kotak takes this to his heart and boardrooms as well. The Kotak Mahindra Bank CEO, who often engages in conversations with Twitterati, showed his environment-friendly side through a tweet. The 60-year-old tweeted a picture of a glass water jar and disposable paper cups from the boardrooms of the bank's Mumbai offices. While the concept of glass water jars made sense to Twitterati, the paper cups stirred a tweet war for the environment's sake.
The top CEO tweeted, "4.3 lakh plastic bottles saved per annum. Glass water jars and disposable paper cups in meeting rooms at Kotak Mahindra Bank Mumbai offices. Working to make it national. Environment is precious."

Kotak's tweet left his followers questioning the presence of paper cups. While some appreciated the effort, others were not so happy for using paper cups and deemed them a 'disaster to the environment'. Some, on the other hand, went on a suggestive spree and recommended steel, glass tumblers for all employees.

The Kotak CEO's tweet comes a week ahead of the World Environment Day.
